xD-Picture Card compatible digital cameras and adapters make it easier for you to Shoot...Store...Print...Share your pictures anywhere and with anyone. Fujifilm xD-Picture Card digital cameras and adapters are fully compatible with many of today's print stations including the Fujifilm Aladdin Digital Picture Center and the PrintPix Digicam Picture Center 1000. For added simplicity, you can drop off your xD-Picture Card at any photofinisher offering digital camera processing. It's just as easy as film.
xD-Picture Cards Type M and Type H enable high storage capacities to be achieved at lower cost per megabyte. Types M and H use different methods of digital encoding, however, their identical operating specifications make them fully interchangeable.
xD-Picture Cards Type M came out in 2005, and uses Multi Level Cell (MLC) architecture. Type M cards will eventually be available in sizes up to 8 GB, though the cards are not compatible with all older model cameras. Type M card is also alot about half a size of aSD/MMC card. The xD Type M cards have a faster standard rate of 4.0MB/s for reading and 2.5MB/s for writing.
xD-Picture Cards Type H how ever provides improved write speeds that are up to 2x-3x faster than previous xD cards. This helps photos and QuickTime movies to be saved and formatted to the card alot quicker, which means less time to wait between shots.
